Palpable fears have griped the Headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, in Abuja following the resumption of duty by the Acting Chairman of Commission, Ibrahim Magu who returned to country from a private visit to Dubai on Sunday.
According to a top official of the Commission, Mr Magu, rather than going for self isolation and normal testing after his arrival from the trip, he resumed duty.
“Magu just came from Dubai over the weekend and has been in the office since monday, working, directing, mingling and leading his staff members like everything is normal or he has immunity against the virus. When are we going to stop this Executive rascality?
” I think at this material time, every one should have clearly seen that this virus is a leveller and we should shelve our egos and rascality. How on earth will law makers and enforcers be the first to break the laws? How do we justify some lawmakers and Magu the Acting Efcc Chairman returning from journeys abroad and resuming straight to office without the required self isolation and testing?
“We scared, the man should stay at home and go for the normal test in order to determine his health status and not just coming here to cause confusion for us, he is our boss,we can not disobey him, President Mohamodu Buhari wade in, after all he too has done test, nobody is above the law”.
Efforts to speak with the Special Assistant on Media to Magu, Mr Tony Amokeodo on the development proved abortive as his number 08038099089 was no going through.
A top official of the Commission confirmed the story in confidence, saying that the development is giving every staff serious concern.
