Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi state on Tuesday applauded the former police commissioners who worked in the state for their outstanding commitment in the fight against crime and criminality in the state.
The governor applauded the former police commissioners when he received the newly posted Police Commissioner, CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi who paid him an advocacy visit at the Government House, Bauchi.
Governor Bala Mohammed said since the inception of his administration, it is working in active synergy with security agencies including the police for the maintenance of peace and security across the state.
He enjoined the newly posted police commissioner to consolidate on the achievements recorded by his predecessors and to come up with new strategy of fighting criminal activities in the state.
“I welcome you to Bauchi State, and we are ready as Government to support you to succeed. I have so far worked with four Police Commissioners and I am so much happy with their commitment to the maintenance security in Bauchi state.”
“As you are aware, Bauchi State is one of the peaceful states in Nigeria despite some security challenges and I want to request you to use your vast experience in policing for the growth and development of Bauchi state.”
On his cordial relationship with security agencies in the state, the governor called for more collaboration for the peaceful coexistence of the state.
Governor Bala Mohammed said his administration will soon donate a number of patrol vehicles to security agencies in the state for effective discharge of their assigned responsibilities.
Earlier, the newly posted Bauchi state Police Commissioner, CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi assured the governor that he will work assiduously to ensure the peaceful coexistence of the state.
CP Abiodun Sylvester Alabi pledged to use his vast experience in policing to bear in order to assist the state government in tackling all forms of crime and criminality in the state.
“Your Excellency, I am here to introduce myself to you as new Police Commissioner for Bauchi state. We must appreciate your support to police in Bauchi because we have heard about your support to the former Commissioners.”
“Your Excellency, I am happy to inform you that, in Bauchi state Police Command we have many professional officers who can assist me and indeed the state government to address the security challenges facing the state.”
