The Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Ahmed Idris Wase, has enjoined Muslim faithful to use this period of devotion and sacrifices to pray for the progress, peace and unity of the country.
In a statement to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, issued by his chief Press Secretary, Umar Mohammed Puma, Wase urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the success of the ongoing war against kidnapping, banditry, terrorism in some part of the country.
“I wish to appeal to all Nigerians to remember to pray for the progress, peace and unity of the country. I also urged priviledged persons to support the less privileged in the society.
The Deputy Speaker called on Nigerians of various faiths to tolerate one another and view the Sallah celebration as a call for love, devotion, caring and promotion of peace in line with the teachings of prophet Muhammad (SAW).
