The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, has tasked the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) to reposition itself for optimal performance of its constitutionally assigned mandate.
Gbajabiamila, while receiving the management of the Bureau, led by its Chairman, Prof. Mohammed Isa, in his office on Wednesday, said the House was ready to support the agency where and when necessary.
According to him, being backed by the constitution, the Bureau stands a better chance of performing its roles in fighting corruption in the country.
The CCB chairman, Prof Isa, had earlier said the visit was to familiarize with the Office of the Speaker and seek his support in achieving their mandate.
He used the visit to thank the leadership of the House, under Gbajabiamila, for addressing some of the bureau’s budgetary challenges last year and sought more allocation going forward.
