In a bid to ensure a hitch free Sallah Celebrations across Bauchi metropolis and beyond, members of joint Islamc Aid Organizations in the state have been engaged in a two day retreat aimed at exposing them to new emergency response system in line with global based practice.
The training organized by a Non Governmental Organization Wunti Al-khair Foundation was also to provide the participants with basic and technical skills on crowd and traffic management, emergency response, public enlightenment as well as risk Communication among others.
Speaking at the opening of the occasion yesterday, the founder of the foundation Alhaji Bala Wunti said the exercise was informed by the foundation’s determination to ensure that the thousands of Muslim faithfuls attending various Eid Grounds are properly guided.
Bala Wunti who is a Bauchi Based philanthropist and also a Group General Manager of NNPC, represented by an official of the foundation Alhaji Rabi’u Maijama’a said the foundation is concern with safety of worshipers before, during and after the Sallah hence the need for the training.
Also Speaking, the State Commissioner of Religious Affairs and Community Relations, Alhaji Umar Babayo Kesa while commending the Foundation for the intiative said the gesture will complement effort of the state government in ensuring a successful Sallah Celebrations.
Babayo Kesa who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on Religious Affairs, Malam Aminu Zirami Called on the participants to use the knowledge acquired in a manner that will impact positively to the well-being of people.
On his part, the National Director, Aid Group of Jama’atu Nasirul Islam Alh. Bala Ibrahim Sani said over one hundred participants representing various Islamc organizations were shortlisted for the workshop.
According to him the trainees are expected to step down the knowledge to their members at the grassroot levels.
