Mutiat Enehuwa, Chief Executive Officer, Verve Mutex Travels, has advised her colleagues in the tourism and hospitality industries to focus more on acquiring more knowledge to improve on service delivery in the sector.
Enehuwa, who recently became a member of the Chartered Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN), gave the advice in a statement on Wednesday.
According to her, constant knowledge upgrade should be imbibed by practitioners to position the industry in such a way that it can compete favourably with other countries.
“I urge hospitality and tourism practitioners to be encouraged in always going for more knowledge, this will help us as operators and the industries at large.
“We have a lot to improve on to meet up with international stardards,” she said.
Enehuwa noted that she embraced the profession due to her love for travels and adventures.
On her accomplishment as the latest member of ITPN, Enehuwa said, “I am really an inquisitive person, it inspires me to seek for more knowledge and understanding in my profession, so I can offer my clients the best of services and experience deserving.
“I must confess that at this point I’m overwhelmed with joy.”
Enehuwa is a graduate of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the Ekiti State University.
She also studied Enviromental Health at the College of Health Sciences and technology Idah in Kogi State.
The Institute is a higher, vocational and tertiary level professional organisation.
It was established to furnish the industry with professional personnel who can provide good quality standard of products and services.
It offers unique set of management qualifications which have been developed expressly for managers and aspiring managers working in the hospitality and tourism sector, for Nigerians and the international market.
