Golden Screen Entertainment Ltd. on Sunday premiered its first movie, “Asigbo”, meaning “misconception”, in Lagos.
The movie which was exhibited at CitiHeight Luxury Hotel preaches effective communication and commitment in marriages.
It relays the story of a couple, Morayo and Ishola who were not committed to each other’s needs due to lack of effective communication and commitment, therefore, leading to some misconceptions.
Yomi Fash-Lanso, who acted as Ishola refused to render any form of assistance to Ireti Osayemi, his wife (Morayo), who is also a career woman.
Ishola entrenches himself in his work and ensures he provides financially for his family, believing that is all his family needed while Morayo struggled to be a good mother, wife and career woman.
The couple’s relationship suffered and the childen were greatly affected.
“Asigbo”, produced by Olawale Oderinde and directed by renowned filmmaker, Adeoye Bakare is a movie fully densed with morals.
The movie stars actors including Foluke Daramola, Seyi Edun, Okele, Bidemi Kosoko, Toyin Alausa,and Olawale Oderinde.
According to the producer, Oderinde, the movie is based on true life experience as he describes it as not just a movie but also a movement to correct anomalies in homes.
“This is not just a movie but a movement to correct some anomalies in the marriages, we can see lots of broken homes, the movie tries to address some of the issues that lead to broken homes so that couples can learn.
“Having worked with Foluke Daramola and a lot more of our renowned artistes, it is a beautiful experience for me and more will be coming up after this movie,” he said.
Also, Bakare, the movie director, said he was attracted to work on the movie because of the interesting storyline and having seen Oderinde’s quest to contribute to the growth of the entertainment industry.
He said one of the greatest problems people encounter in relationships globally had to do with misconception, adding that it was a germane plot to explore.
One of the casts, Foluke Daramola said “It was a honour to be part of this production, the director is a professional par excellence, he pays attention to details.
“It is a movie with strong messages, couples take things for granted, so let us try to be flexible with our partners and I hope this helps a lot of couples.”
Lukman Lawal, a Special Assistant to the Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, said “I am happy with what has happened today.
“This movie is addressing a global problem, I am really impressed.”
