As a Prince of Ilobu Kingdom and as a leading political figure,. Hon. Prince Adekunle Oladimeji contesting for Irepodun/Orolu State Constituency of Osun State under People Democratic Party joined other well meaning citizens to condemne the statement emanating from the camp of opposition candidate, Nasirudeen Olateju against Ilobu, Ifon and Erin.
He stated that the statement is capable of causing crisis among the peaceful coexistence and the heritage which the three communities have shared in the past
Prince Adekunle Oladimeji in his reaction, stated that such statement is barbaric and uncalled for especially coming from an elderly man and a lawmaker representing his people.
“For a representative of the people to have concocted this as part of his manifesto simply because his Constituents refused to support his second term bid by saying to people that he refused to provide them money to buy fire arms is nothing but a slanderous statement coming from a representative of the people.
When the karma of the numerous atrocities they committed are chasing them, the populace deserted and rejected them in all ramifications, what is left for them is to be speaking ill of their hometown. They are left with nothing to Campaign again but resulted to political brouhaha and shenanigans
He was quoted to have said, “I didn’t buy guns during community crisis, i didn’t support my hometown to triumph over others during crisis and a lot of insensible, unhearable words are being used to canvass around as their functions or dividends of democracy for people through out their four years in State House of Assembly Osogbo, Prince Oladimeji wondered why a right thinking man could come with such inflammatory statement.
Freedom of speech or freedom of expression should not be aligned with Inflammatory words, stressing that slanderous action against your hometown is like denouncing your birthright.
Hon. Olateju is threading to the path of chaos in shambles of his campaign in trying to cause division in the peaceful communities (Ilobu, Ifon & Erin), Prince Adekunle Oladimeji however, called on the entire public to call him to order and advise him to campaign with his scorecard not by rooting for another unrest in the societies.
He said, “ILOBU/ERIN/IFON peoples are peace loving, we are bloods brothers and we are one. Let’s work very hard to reject their Campaign that is capable of divisiveness and use our insightfulness to think of what they are carrying around as a time bomb which will cause instability in our dear three communities”.
He however, called on peace loving people in our locality and diaspora to assess him before he derailed and urged him not to set our peace loving towns into ablaze with his stinginess and mindless expression.
