About three thousand Nigerian young persons will undergo critical cultural tourism training in China in the coming weeks, says Otunba Segun Runsewe, Director General, National Council for Arts and Culture ( NCAC). Already, the good news that filtered through international and local news agencies has generated unprecedented interest across the nation as interested private sector organisations and state governments agencies have been making enquiries about the training offer brokered by Runsewe who is Beijing, China on invitation by Chinese government to discuss initiatives and ideas to deepen International Cultural Tourism Reforms for Developing Nations.
** Rochas Anayo Okorocha, former governor of Imo state and senate Committee chairman on Culture, has attributed the failure to arrest Youths’ moral decadence to poor parenting;, and advised parents be alive to their responsibilities. He admitted that every convergence of Nigeria youths today usually ends up in unexplainable fights, mostly primed by the consumption of illicit drugs. Owelle Rochas called on Nigerian young persons to think like a millionaire and not as misfits, adding that lack of ambition or good strides to be great individuals, robs off on the minds of many young persons who finds expression through drugs. The Senate Committee chairman on Culture spoke at the Annual Public Lecture on Culture, Drug Abuse, and the Future Of the Nigerian Youth organised by the National Institute for Cultural Orientation ( NICO) , Tuesday in Abuja further advised the youths to be mindful of spending endless hours on phones, acts of procrastination, usage of Artificial Intelligence, and other disruptive tendencies that may ruin their future.
Still on NICO Public Lecture, Ado Yahuza, disclosed that the rising cases of consumption and trade in illicit drugs by the Youths must be curbed headlong, noting that to ignore the trend and treat it with kids glove, will leave the nation at dangerous bend, hence his organisation, will continue to focus on finding solutions through cultural intellectual engagement. Ado Yahuza is the chief executive officer of NICO and had for the past two years used the instruments of public enlightenment, education and reorientation engagement to draw focal attention on using the impact of cultural ecosystem in arresting social and culture decadence, particularly among Nigerian youths.
** Buba Marwa, Nigeria’ s illicit Drugs buster says the fight against drugs trafficking and consumption will be sustained so as to free Nigeria and the people from its destructive influence. General Buba Marwa, in a key note presentation at NICO Annual Public Lecture, says his Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement and Administration agency will continue to hound and eliminate those who peddle drugs and urged the youths to stay away from the evils of drugs usage. Marwa, who was represented by Mrs Ngozi nwabudike, Director, Drug Reduction, admonished the youths not allow dangerous forces to trick them into bad drug habits, calling on Nigerians to join hands with the agency to rid the country of drugs and its consequences.
** Barely a week after a successful conference on Africa to Africa Tourism initiative held in Johannesburg, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies ( Nanta) President, MRS SUSAN AKPORIAYE, is set again to break ceilings on Youth Tourism as she leads Nigerian entrants and delegates to Africa Youths Tourism summit in Namibia, . The event will start on Monday, May 29th. Creative Nigeria, Mainland 98.3 FM, will report the Africa Youth Tourism Summit live from Namibia.
Africas’ biggest private sector driven refinery, owned by Aliku Dangote, will not produce fuel and its prospective value chain, the Refinery located in Epe in lagos will scale up tourism destination offering of the city of aquatic splendour. How lagos Tourism and the private sector will collaborate to market the fuel city remains to be seen.
