The Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr Zaphaniah Bitrus Jisalo has advised the Lottery Commission on the need to always give priority to accountability and effective service delivery in the discharge of its duties.
Mr Jisalo gave the advice while on a visit to the Commission in Abuja.
The Minister who described the activities of the Commission as critical to the Ministry stressed the need for the Director General and his management team to key into the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration towards repositioning the country for greatness.
He used the opportunity to promise to champion nation’s building through the enthronement of social harmony and sustainable development in line with the eight point developmental programmes of the present Administration.
While restating to promote strategic tools for grassroots development, effective implementation of government’s programmes for national development, Mr Jisalo called for the cooperation of the Commission towards achieving the mandate of the Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs for the betterment of the country.
While describing the Ministry as strategic to the realization of the eight point agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration, Mr Zaphaniah Jisalo said he would collaborate with necessary stakeholders for the growth of the country
In a remark, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Ibiene Patricia Roberts stressed the need for the Lottery Commission to be transparent in its activities towards sustaining the confidence of Nigerians in the Commission’s programmes of action.
She equally advised the Commission to improve in its duties towards raising the bar of productivity and resource oriented.
Earlier, the Director General of Lottery Commission, Mr Lanre Gbajabiamila who commended the Minister for the visit briefed him on the Commission’s activities to enable him have first hand information on its activities and performance for national economic development.
Mr Gbajabiamila therefore used the opportunity to solicit for permanent office accomodation.for the Commission to further boost its productivity.
