The National President of National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed has bagged an Award of Excellence On Advocacy On the Rights of Patients and Aged in Nigeria.
The Award presented to him by the Foundation For The Care, Support And Advocacy For The Aged and Retirees In Nigeria was in recognition of his commitment to the treatment and wellbeing of patients and aged most especially in the nigeria’s Primary Healthcare Centres.
Receiving the Award in Abuja, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed appreciated the Association for the honour.
He said the award would further encourage him to put in his best in the discharge of his duties as Community Health Practitioner.
According to him, the best thing any medical health practitioner can do is to make their patients kings while rendering medical services and providing treatment to them.
Comrade Ahmed used the opportunity to call for more funding and upgrade of Primary Healthcare Centres nationwide towards reducing child and maternal mortality.
He also stressed the need for the recruitment of additional community health practitioners to meet the challenges of healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Mr Noah Ataboh said the award was in recognition of Nigerians who have contributed to the service of humanity most especially to patients and aged in the society.
Mr Ataboh who described Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed as a highly committed and professional Community Health Practitioner also extolled his leadership qualities as the National President of NACHPN.
He used the opportunity to call for the establishment of Old Peoples’Home in the Federal Capital Territory to further improve the wellbeing of the elderly and reduced the challenges of isolation among them.
