The Commander General of the Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, Ambassador Dr Joshua Wole Osatimehin has felicitated with Muslims most especially President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kasshim Shettima as well as officers and men of the Service on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja on the occasion of this year’s Sallah, Ambassador Osatimehin said although there may be challenges in the country, there’s still need to thank Almighty Allah for the gift of life to witness another Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He therefore enjoined Muslims to use the occasion in praying for Nigeria to overcome its security and economic challenges.
“What Nigeria require now is prayers by Muslims and non Muslims because the country is currently undergoing some challenges in the areas of security and economy which I believe that the country will overcome one day because most great nations of the world passed through same difficulties therefore Nigerians should unite and support President Bola Tinubu’s led administration irrespective of religion, bribe and political differences to enable the country takes its rightful place among comity of nations ” He stated.
The Commander explained that officers and men of NHFSS had been directed nationwide to compliment the efforts of formal Security Agencies in protecting lives and property before, during and after the Sallah celebration.
“It is also part of our responsibilities during festivities like this over the years for us to support and compliment the efforts of other Security Agencies in checkmating those that may want to take advantage of the occasion on perpetrating or indulging in one crime or the other most especially around the forestic region of the country and that I have directed to ensure a hitch free Eid-el-Kabir celebration ” He stressed.
Ambassador Osatimehin therefore warmed officers and men of NHFSS against act detrimental to the objectives of the Service while carrying out their duties before, during and after the Sallah celebration.
He used the opportunity to call for the integration of NHFSS in Nigeria’s Security Apparatus through the signing of its Bill by President Bola Tinubu into law to further ensure the actualization of his renewed hope agenda in the area of security.
“NHFSS Bill is presently before President Bola Tinubu for signing into law and this we believe when its done will further strengthen the nation’s security apparatus and give us necessary legal backing that will enhance our performance in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, boko haram and other forms of crimes and criminality in the country’s forestic areas ” He pointed out.
Ambassador Osatimehin therefore reiterated the continuous support and commitment of NHFSS towards safeguarding lives and property of Nigerians as the Service is well structured, equipped and trained by necessary Security Experts and Organizations both within and outside the country.
