The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council, Comrade Grace Ike on Wednesday attended the 2024 Annual Conference of the International Press Institute Nigeria.
Grace Ike attended the conference held in Abuja in company of the Secretary of Council (SoC), Comrade Jide Oyekunle and other members of the NUJ FCT Council.
She was introduced as the first female Chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, to the applause and admiration of the dignitaries present, including the Minister of Information
and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, who was also the Chairman of the event.
The conference with the theme, Democracy, Media Freedom and the imperative of Protecting the Nigerian Civic Space, attracted seasoned journalists, media practitioners including the immediate past Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Lai Mohammed,.
Others in attendance former for DG of NTA, Prof Tonnie Iredia as key note Speaker, the DG of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr Odeola Oluwatosin Ajayi, and the NSA Malam Nuhu Ribadu.
Others include the National President of the NUJ, Alhaji Alhassan Yahya Abdullahi, and immediate past President of the NUJ, Comrade Dr Chris Isiguzo.
Also former Chairmen of council, Comrade Amos Duniya, Hon Jacob Edi amongst others were in attendance.
