In a deliberate drive to catapult Uhunwonde Local Government Area, Edo State to a place of economic growth and prosperity, the Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Osas Iredia has announced plans to host an economic summit in September 2025 with the theme, “UHUNMWODE ECONOMIC SUMMIT”.
The summit which is an epoch event promises to reposition Uhunmwode and place it in its place of pride amongst other Local Governments in Edo State in line with the development agenda of Governor Monday Okpebholo.
In a statement issued to press men in Benin, Hon. Iredia revealed that preparations are already underway with the Uhunmwode Youth wealth creation and skill seminar which will hold on Wednesday the 16th of July 2025 as the first in the line-up of events tagged, “AHEAD OF THE UHUNMWODE ECONOMIC SUMMIT.”
The event promises to be historic bringing together sons and daughters of Uhunmwode under the slogan-ARO OGBON (a new phase).
The Chairman further stated that, “this is a clarion call to all sons and daughters of Uhunmwode to share ideas, contribute meaningfully, expand their network and deploy resources for the growth and progress of Uhunmwode.
The initiative is a deliberate effort to redirect the narrative that currently places Uhunmwode as the poorest and least developed Local Government Area in Edo State which the Chairman said is both shameful and unacceptable.
“As an Administration, we are determined to do all we can to upturn the negative reports about our Local Government by ensuring we engage the positive inputs of stakeholders and indeed the private sector because no one will do it for us.” He opined.
Adding, “we call on all sons and daughters of Uhunmwode to assist in this rebuilding process so that we can all have a place to call home”.
The Summit which is hosted by the Uhunmwode Local Government Council is Organised by Princely Reactivation Ltd, a Policy Strategist and Management Company led by Mariam Erakhoba Ilavbare Esq, a proud indigene of the Local Government.
More information will be made available as the events unfold.
