
Enugu, Nigeria — The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), South East Zone, proudly announces the inauguration of its Vice President, Wilson Uche Ugwu, as a member of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the 2025 National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST), scheduled to hold in Enugu State from November 22–29, 2025.
This development follows the formal constitution of the LOC by His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Governor of Enugu State, who charged the committee to deliver a world-class cultural festival that reflects the state’s artistic brilliance, cultural depth, and tourism potential.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the Governor, emphasized the importance of meticulous planning, effective coordination, and timely execution of all festival activities, ensuring Enugu maintains its reputation as a peaceful, vibrant, and culturally rich destination.

The LOC, supervised by the Honourable Commissioner for Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Barr. Ugochi Madueke, comprises representatives from relevant ministries, agencies, the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), and the private sector, including FTAN.
Speaking after his inauguration, the FTAN South East Vice President stated:

“Yesterday, I was officially inaugurated as a member of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST) 2025, proudly to be hosted in the Coal City — Enugu State.

As Vice President, South East, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), I have the privilege of representing private sector practitioners within Nigeria’s vibrant tourism and culture ecosystem
This appointment is both an honour and a call to service — to contribute my quota in showcasing Enugu’s rich cultural heritage, creative excellence, and unmatched hospitality to the entire nation.

Under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Enugu is not just preparing to host NAFEST; we are preparing to set a new benchmark in cultural celebration and creative innovation.
I sincerely appreciate the Honourable Commissioner for Tourism and Culture, Enugu State, for the opportunity to serve and contribute to this noble cause.
