
….Calls on Govs to form Community Security as first line of defense.
The Senator representing Kogi West Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has condemned the recent attacks and kidnappings of schoolchildren in Niger and Kebbi States by armed bandits describing the urgly trend as unacceptable and urged the security forces to rise up against the urgly situation and fish out those behind the dastardly act
In a statement made available to news men in Abuja on Friday , Senator Karim, Chairman Senate Services Committee pointed out that the acts were being perpetrated by mischief makers with the sole aim to tarnish President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration despite the concerted efforts of the administration to fix the country for the betterment of all and sundry
He urged Nigerians to maintain faith in the government, emphasizing President Tinubu’s commitment to protecting lives and properties on the citizens and the foreigners alike
The Senator also called on state governments to establish Community Security Agencies as part of first line of defense to complement national efforts in securing communities.

He stressed the importance of citizens’ involvement in defending their communities and sharing information with security agencies.

Armed bandits had early in the week invaded a Government Seconry School in Kebbi State, killed the Vice President and abducted 25 students while on Friday again the dare devil bandits struck in Niger State at a Missionary School and abducted over 50 students in two trucks
The Federal Government had condemned the dastardly acts and directed the security agencies to immediately rescue the innocent school Children and apprehend the perpetrators.
