The member representing Abua/Odual and Ahoada East Federal Constituency of Rivers State, Solomon Hon Solomon Bob (PDP, Rivers) on Wednesday cautioned the spokesperson of the opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives, Hon kenga Ugochinyere to henceforth stop speaking on matters concerning Rivers State, saying that the state has competent lawmakers
Speaking with news men in Abuja, before the Plenary session , Hon Bob said that the unguided utterances of the Imo State Federal Lawmaker on Rivers State issues were false and causing unnecessary tension in the State
Hon Bob who accused Hon Ugochinyere of exceeding his legal and legislative boundaries by neglecting his constituency in Imo State to focus on issues in Rivers, thereby creating unnecessary tensions, said that ” in Nigeria, states have boundaries and as Lawmaker he knows that he can not represent two states at the time”
He added that that while the Opposition Spokesperson is a federal lawmaker, his position does not grant him the authority to speak on Rivers State matters.
He pointed out that Hon Ugochinyere ought to know that a lawmaker’s primary responsibilities are representation, lawmaking, and oversight, rather than meddling in the affairs of other states.
Hon Bob who stated that the Rivers State caucus in the House had raised the issue before the leadership of House urged the leadership to call the Imo State Lawmaker in the interest of peace
