
The minister of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, Barr. Hannatu Musa Musawa has called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu’s Renew Hope agenda in the sustenance of our rich cultural heritage and the economy.
The minister who stated on the occasion of 2025 International Museums Day Celebration held at the China Cultural Centre in Abuja in partnership with China with the theme; The Future Of Museums In Rapidly Changing Communities, stated that It is in this regard that I urge all, not just the NCMM to join hands with Mr. President’s Renew Hope Agenda in flourishing the Art, Culture and Creative Economy sector so that as a people we may be remembered for contributing our quota for generations to come.
The minister who spoke the permanent secretary in the ministry state, Likewise in Nigeria, museums are now being looked upon not only as places for presentation of culture and heritage but also as community centers actively involved in its sustainability.
According to the minister, “This is why the Ministry of Art, Culture and creative Economy is paying kin interest in museums activities and working tirelessly to ensure the NCMM have a befitting museum in Abuja'”

The chairman of the House of Representatives committee on culture and tourism, Hon Gabriel Saleh Zock promised that the National Assembly is ready to support you in all aspects to ensure our museums remain vibrant, inclusive, and relevant. Let us celebrate our heritage, promote creativity, and build a brighter future for generations to come.
He said, as our communities evolve, museums must adapt to remain relevant and impactful. “We must harness technology, engage diverse audiences, and showcase the richness of our cultural diversity”.
The lawmaker maintained that in Nigeria, our museums are treasure troves of history, art, and culture, inspiring creativity, promoting tourism, and contributing to our national identity.

The Director General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Olugbile Holloway was of the view that as change sweeps through our societies, museums must not remain static. We must embrace digital innovation, inclusivity, and community engagement.
He noted that Museums of the future must be interactive, participatory, and accessible to all. We must represent the voices of youth, marginalized groups, and the dynamic realities of our times.
In Africa, where oral tradition and community memory remain vital, museums must continue to be custodians of both tangible and intangible heritage.
According to him, we must foster research, creativity, and resilience in the face of global challenges such as climate change, conflict, and displacement.

“As we celebrate International Museum Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to building museums that evolve with their communities. Let us envision institutions that do not just preserve the past, but actively shape the future”, he said
