Ekiti Professor constructs First Symmetrical Triangular Base Pyramid in Ise Ekiti

In a groundbreaking development set to redefine architectural and tourism landscapes in Nigeria, Professor Philip Omoniyi Adetiloye is planting the nation’s first symmetrical or triangular-base pyramid and other futuristic and symmetrical building architectures as a tourism resort in Ise Ekiti.

This monumental stride is poised to become a significant landmark for tourism, architectural study, knowledge dissemination, geomatics, and mathematics.
The Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development team, led by Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre Esq which include Michael Ekiran ,Special Assistant on Tourism Development ,and a crew of the Nigeria Television Authority, led by the General Manager , Ado Ekiti Station , Alhaji Isaq Akande recently undertook a comprehensive tour of this architectural marvel, expressing immense excitement about its potential to draw local and international visitors.
The stride introduces
Professor Adetiloye’s pyramid stands out distinctly from the more commonly known asymmetrical pyramids. While both forms are impressive, their fundamental differences lie in their base geometry and overall symmetry:

For Asymmetrical Pyramids are those typically refer to pyramids where all the sides are not triangular. A classic example might be a pyramid with a rectangular (four-sided or square base).
The symmetrical pyramid has three Triangular sides and a triangular base. The latter form of pyramid is what Professor Adetiloye is building at Ise-Ekiti. Adetiloye’s creation is characterized by a triangular base, as well as three triangular faces or sides. Meaning that all three sides of the pyramid as well as the base have equal triangular surface areas .

Crucially, the apex of the pyramid is positioned directly above the geometric center of the four equilateral triangles, ensuring that all the four triangular faces of the pyramid are identical in shape and size, and meet at the apex at precisely the same angle.
This perfect symmetry creates a harmonious and balanced structure, offering a unique aesthetic and geometric harmonium and purity.
The construction of the symmetrical pyramid with triangular base in Ise Ekiti holds profound significance across various domains:
To History ,his feat marks a pivotal moment in Nigerian architectural history, demonstrating indigenous innovation and engineering prowess.
It establishes a new benchmark for structural design and serves as a testament to the intellectual capabilities within the nation. Future generations will look back at this as a pioneering achievement.
To Tourism , the pyramid is an instant iconic attraction, promising to significantly boost tourism in Ise Ekiti and the wider Ekiti State. It offers a unique cultural and educational experience, drawing visitors interested in architecture, engineering, history, mathematics, and the sheer wonder of human ingenuity. It will foster local economic growth through increased visitor traffic, creating opportunities for local businesses and communities.

To Architecture , the Professor Adetiloye’s pyramid provides a tangible example of advanced geometric principles applied in a large-scale construction. It will serve as a living laboratory for architects, engineers, and students to study the principles of symmetrical designs, structural integrity, and sustainable building practices. It challenges conventional architectural norms and opens new avenues for design exploration.
To the Environmentally beningn and Geomatics the precise construction of a symmetrical pyramid with three triangular sides and a triangular base demands a deep understanding of geomatics – the science of measuring and understanding the Earth’s geometric shape, orientation in space, and gravity field. This project showcases advanced surveying techniques, precise site selection, and the application of environmental considerations in large-scale construction. Its symmetrical nature may also offer unique opportunities for studying natural energy flows and environmental interactions.
Professor Philip Omoniyi Adetiloye’s pioneering work in Ise Ekiti stands as a beacon of innovation and a testament to the rich creative and inventive potential within the Nigeria innovation ecosystem.
The symmetrical pyramid resort with a triangular base and three triangular sides is not just a structure; it is a symbol of progress, knowledge, and the enduring spirit of human endeavor.
