The Member Representing Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives,
Honourable Leke Joseph Abejide on Saturday doled out N75m bank Cheques for secondary school students sitting for this year’s,School Certificate examination being conducted by the West African Examination Council, WAEC.
Speaking at the occasion at Isanlu, in Yagba East Local Government of Kogi of Kogi State, Honorable Abejide declared that the gesture covered both Public and Private Secondary schools across the three Local Governments in the Constituency
Honourable Abejide also announced that from this academics’ session that the gesture would be extended to all JSS 3 students in all the local government and Technical schools across the political parties
According to him, “in no distance future we should begin to see Medical Doctors, engineers, administrators and even governors among these our children, your dream of reaching out to the sky should begin from today”.
He urged parents in the federal constituency to key in to the project by allowing their children to register as there was no condition attached in respective of their political affiliations.
Hon Bejide told the gathering attended by traditional rulers, political leaders and religious leaders to continue to remain peaceful to allow for peace to reign in the country as there is no meaningful development can take place in a chaotic situation.
He said that he along with his colleagues at the National Assembly were doing every thing possible to collaborate with the Executive Arm of government to bring good dividends of democracy to Nigerians.
Speaking, a parent, Mrs. Folashade Yinusa on behalf of parents commended Hon. Bejide’s gesture for bringing hope for hopeless parents and students in the area and promised to continue to support in his political career for bringing their Children to the limelights.
The law maker also sunk 8 motorized boreholes in the constituency located at ALU, Ponyan, Amuro, Mopa,Ogbe and Egbe respectively as parts of his constituency projects in the Federal Constituency.
In addition, Honorable Abejide graded roads as a palliative measures to the constituency from Iyamoye to Igbegun, to Ife- Olukotun, Ponyan , Ejuku to Ijowa Isanlu.
