CHINA LOAN: REPS SUSPEND COMMITTEES’ PUBLIC HEARINGS

Worried about the ugly developments coming out from the House of Representatives especially on the issue of Chinese loan, presidency summoned the leadership of the House to address the matter as soon as possible.

Responding to this development, the leadership of the the House met and issued a circular stopping all the activities of committees including all pending public hearing.

In circular with reference: NASS/9/HR/OLDR/ADM/VOL10031 addressed to chairmen of House Standing and adhoc committee by the House Leader, Hon Ado Dogwa stated that all committee meeting and public hearing should stop until the House resume.

House Leader in the circular stated that the leadership of the House of Representatives has recently met and resolved that henceforth all activities of standing and A hoc committee be put on hold while House is on its annual recess.

Accordingly, all standing and Adhoc committee chairmen ate hereby directed to suspend with immediate effect all committee meetings, public hearing and other engagements.

The Clerk of the House should also ensure compliance to this circular by all committee clerks and other relevant staffs of the House of Representatives.
