In a demonstration of fairness, Bauchi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has decided to refund the fees paid for purchase of its members who purchased nomination forms to aspire for Local Government Areas’ Chairman or councillor in the forthcoming local government elections but lost in the primaries.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Yayanuwa Zainabari who disclosed this while addressing newsmen at the party Secretariat preparatory to the election said that it is only fair to refund the fees paid to assuage the lost of the primaries as well as to demonstrate that the party is a United entity and members are working as a family to ensure victory at polls.
The Spokesperson assured that the party has done its home work very well and is sure of victory assuring also that there will be a level playing field for every contestant as the election will be conducted in a free and fair atmosphere considering that people of the state have been looking forward to the election having been held last in the state 12 years ago.
Yayanuwa Zainabari then said that 20 candidates are contesting as Chairmen while 300 are contesting as councillors under the party in the October 17th local government elections. END
