International Day For Elimination Of Violence Against Women : Bauchi NAWOJ Calls For Unity

As the world marks International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women the Bauchi State chapter of Nigerian Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has urged all Stakeholders in this noble struggle to unite against all forms of Gender based violence.
In a Press release issued by Bulak Afsa,chairperson of NAWOJ,Bauchi State chapter, and made available to newsmen Wednesday, the Association the celebration also begins the 2020 16 days of activism against gender based violence which is an international campaign to challenge violence against women and girls.
The release also added that the 16 days of activism is expected to end on 10th December which is human right day.
According to the release, “Gender based violence usually results in physical, sexual or psychological harm and leaves the survivor in pain. We as Women Journalists are pained by the increasing cases of Gender based violence (GBV) in our society”.
