The Evergreen G6 Club, an NGO has announced the award of scholarship to indigent students of Papaldna community in Nasarawa State as part of its contribution to encourage education in the area.
The President of the club, Mr Olujobi Bamidele, made the announcement at the association’s 2021 Charity Food-Fest and Educational Support Project in Nasarawa State on Thursday.
Bamidele said that the organisation aim was to bring back core value, help the less privileged and also support indigent students.
“The club has brought its support to the community both in food -fest programme and the Educational scholarship to enable quality education to the serious poor children who want to continue their study.
That has called for the scholarship of the two indigent students in the community which are miss Oyeyemi Deborah an SS3 student of GSS Karshi and Miss Abure Cecilia also an SS3 student of GSS New Karshi
He added that the scholarship was to take care of their three terms school fee, WEAC, NECO, JAMB, “and if the beneficiaries are diligent the club will also sponsor their tertiary education.”
Chief James Atuwa the Esu of Papaldna community also expressed his gratitude to the club towards their support to his community, he also beckoned on other NGOs and the Government to also show the same gesture towards the community .
“ I’m really excited and happy for this opportunity shown to the Papaldna community, and the scholarship of the two students because it really a good thing to have this type of opportunity
I want to use this medium to call other NGOs and Government to provide for the needies in the community and also the government should come and create good road in the community,
he added.
Miss Oyeyemi Deborah a beneficiary of the scholarship said she really exited being a beneficiary of the scholarship and also vowed to increase her commitment towards her study.
“ I’m really excited and grateful to Evergreen for making me a beneficiary of this amazing scholarship and i want to use this opportunity to say Thank you to the Club.
And I promise to be more committed to my study so i can also benefit another scholarship to study in the higher institution by the support if the Club,
she said.
Miss Abure Cecilia also beneficiary of the scholarship also expressed how happy she and also thank the evergreen for the opportunity and also vowed to more commited and make sure she pass her exams.
