** Nigeria Immigration Service has emerged the best performing agency of the government in the area of complaints resolution for the month of August 2022. Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council says that the Nigerian Immigration Service deserves the recognition for speedy elimination of unnecessary bureaucratic process in the conduct of government business.

** The Esogban of Benin Kingdom, Pa.David Edebiri marked his 93rd birthday by unveiling his new books on “Tripod of life; The essence of Benin tradition and culture” and “The life and times of Iyase N’Ohenmwen”. He said those who fought for Nigeria independence did so for the love of the country and not for their selfish interests.

** Nigeria’s first strategic stakeholders meeting on the Gaming industry will soon be unveiled. The event will focus on sensitizing gaming operators on existing laws and also addressing challenges faced by operators. Focal topics for discussion at the meeting includes; Gaming and Data protection, Compliance-implication for regulators, operators and stakers, the future of data security, THE future of cryptocurrency in gaming and compliance convergence and gaming regulations in west Africa

** Come September 28 2022, a special gathering of INSURANCE professionals and experts will discuss mental health among Nigerian workforce. The event tagged Dive-in festival will focus on diversity and inclusion in insurance and aggregating braver cultures where industries and cooperate organizations will build environment where people will feel safe, valued and free to express themselves

** Over fifty thousand cases of massive destruction to telecom infrastructure and facilities across the country has been reported in the last five years. According to Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) this sad development has imparted negatively the quality of telecommunication services in Nigeria.

** NANTA President, Mrs Susan Akporiaye has commended Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for floating a 500million Naira Tourism Fund geared towards assisting industry players in Akwa Ibom to restart Tourism business after the pandemic. She says the fund is the first ever by any individual in the history of Nigeria and indicative of the sincerity and love for Tourism by Pastor Eno who is the Governorship candidate of PDP in Akwa Ibom state.

** Over 50 life jackets has been made available by the Managing Director of the Nigeria inland waterways authority (NIWA), Dr. George Moghalu for select maritime journalists to aid their safe movements and coverage of the brown water economy. Dr. Moghalu had promised during a recent meeting with the Journalists at Eko Hotel that his organization will do everything in its power to encourage Journalists to report the emerging brown water economy without fear and anxiety.

**The controversial 5% exercise duty on Telecom services announced by the Ministry of Finance recently and which generated discomfort by stakeholders, has been suspended by the Federal government. Isa Pantami, Nigeria Minister of Communications and Digital Economy who led a robust offensive against the 5% tax says that the sector was already overtaxed on multiple fronts, hence the need to suspend the exercise.
