Governor Ademola Adeleke Vows to Sanitize Osun Motor Parks and Transport System

Governor Ademola Adeleke on Wednesday announced his administration’s resolve to transform public transportation and rid the motor parks of thuggery and violence.

Announcing his vision of a new transport model for Osun state, Governor Adeleke said his target is to ensure a modern transport system and more appealing environment for investments, restating his readiness to clear parks in the state of thuggery and lawlessness.

The Governor made this known today while inaugurating a Committee on Transportation, noting his administration’s determination to sanitize motor parks across the state.

Spokesperson to the Executive Governor stated that the time has come to make parks in the state conducive and secure for the people, disclosing his government’s objective of replacing the old parks with modern terminals.

“Our administration is determined to sanitize motor parks across the state. We can no longer allow our parks to be breeding ground for thuggery and lawlessness,” the Governor noted, adding that “It is time to secure our state by making park environment safe, productive and enjoyable. Our goal is to develop modern transport terminals.”

“The mandate of your committee therefore include studying and reviewing the current park system; propose new park management model; and develop an implementation plan.”

Speaking on behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Barr Jola Akintola thanked Governor Adeleke for trusting them with the responsibility, promising to conduct the task in line with the mandate given to them.

“I want to appreciate the Governor for giving us the responsibility of reorganizing the public transport sector. We have taken note of the term of references, and going by the calibre of people in this Committee, I have every assurance that we will deliver on the mandate given to us,” Barr. Akintola said.

“We will not disappoint Mr Governor and the People of the state,” he added.

The Chairman of the Committee is Barrister Jola Akintola while Mr. Tunji Akanni is to serve as the Secretary. Other members of the Committee are: Apesin Lanre Kolade, Alhaji Gani OlaOluwa, Hon Ibukun Fadipe, Alhaji Duduyemi Azeez, Mr Buraimoh Mufutau, Mr Akin Titiloye, Sunday Akanfe Atidade, Hon Taju Adisa, Mr Kola Faesan, Mr Ayobami Folorunsho, Alhaji Fatai Alade, Bamidele Isiaka, Tajudeen Aina.
