The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has won at Unit 1, Ward 11, Abayomi, Iwo Road, Ibadan North East Local Government Area, where Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, voted.

Tinubu polled 104 votes to beat his closest rival, Peter Obi of Labour Party, who polled 82 votes. The Peoples Democratic Party. (PDP) candidate,Atiku Abubakar, polled 27.

Other political parties received less significant votes .

The Governor’s polling booth was a beehive of Media focus in view of the lack of direct adoption of Tinubu by Seyi Makinde.

His body language and mien ,however, pointed to Tinubus support direction.

In the 2019 general elections, the PDP candidates including ,the Governor always won the election.

The remarkable second position and huge votes recorded by the Labour Party,LP,could be traced to the dominant population of the Easterners who have businesses dominating the whole Iwo Road area.

The Igbos have been highly vocal in drumming supports for the Labour Party Presidential candidate,Obi.

The election was relatively peaceful in the area which has been volatile in the build up to today’s all important election.

Political parties, the APC and PDP have pointed accusing fingers against each others in the series of violence that often times claimed lives.
