The Director General,Campaign team of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP),Hon Akintunde Suara has resigned his membership of the party as well as the position of Director general of Engr. Popoola Olukayode Joshua campaign committee.
He has thrown his weight behind Governor Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party ,Oyo State.
In the last one week,there were gales of supports and horse trading between the leading gubernatorial candidates in the state.
Supporters of the PDP with Makinde on their ballot paper,the APC,parading incumbent Senator, Teslim Folarin and Accord Party,Adebayo Adelabu have taken over the state’s political landscape wooing the electorates.
According to a release issued and signed by Hon Suara by his Personal Assistant, Comrade Cosmas Olalekan Oni ,the DG attributed his resignation to the clarion calls by his teaming supporters in his Ibadan North Constituency of Oyo State.
Hon Suara,was a former member of the Federal House of Representatives,representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency.
The politician explained that the laudable achievements recorded by Governor Makinde has also endeared him to support his second term in ambition.
He however thanked the NNPP, Elders and the Governorship candidate ,Engr Olukayode Popoola Joshua for giving him the opportunity to serve them in that capacity.
Hon Tunde Suara has called on the people of Oyo State to troops out in large number and cast their votes for Governor Seyi Makinde and all the PDP State House of Assembly candidates come March 18 for more dividend of democracy.
