The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Tajudeen Abbas, PhD, has expressed sadness over the death of a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Hon. Aliyu Balarabe Idris Jigo.
The Speaker said he was touched by the former Kaduna State legislator’s passing, describing Hon. Jigo as an upright man who dedicated himself to the service of his fatherland.
In a statement signed by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Speaker, House of Representatives, the speaker recalled how the late Hon. Jigo provided good representation for the people of Birnin Gwari when he served as a member in the state Assembly between 2011 and 2015.
He said the late state lawmaker was an excellent student when the Speaker taught him at the Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria in the early 1990s.
Speaker Abbas prayed God to grant late Hon. Aliyu Balarabe Idris Jigo eternal rest and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
He sent heartfelt condolences to the people and Government of Kaduna State over the loss.
