First Baptist Church, Gwagwalada Abuja has organized a special service for the Retired Chief Accountant Officer of High Court, Abuja, Chief Segun Fadare.
In a sermon during the occasion in Gwagwalada Abuja, the Minister in charge of the Church, Reverend Deji Oyelami admonished christians to always prepare for their retirement after their service to the country.
Reverend Oyelami who extolled the contributions of Chief Segun Fadare to the progress of the Church advised him not to relent in his service to God and humanity as he returns to his home town, Ogbomoso’ in Oyo State.
While urging christians to always work towards eternity said the only restful home remained the Kingdom of God after everyone’s sojourn on earth.
“This world will come to an end one day and whatever God has created is everlasting, hence for christians to work towards making heaven and reign with Christ on the last day” the Cleric stressed
He equally enjoined the congregation not to forget their hometown through necessary investment most especially by building a house where they can easily retired to avoid being a tenant after retirement.
In their separate remarks, some of the Church members described Chief Segun Fadare as a caring, loving and God fearing man who has contributed his quota to the growth of evangelism in the church.
They advised him not to backslide in his service to God even as he retired home after 35 years of serving the country.
In his vote of thanks, Chief Segun Fadare appreciated the church for the special send off service.
Chief Fadare described his over three decades in the church as rewarding and fruitful stressing that God has been faithful to him in all his endeavour.
He used the opportunity to call on other civil servants to always remember to prepare for their retirement through savings and self accommodation to avoid unnecessary challenges after retirement.
The service which was attended by friends, associates and relatives witnessed thanksgiving and presentation of gifts as well as special prayers for the celebrant.
