NACHPN Felicitates With Nigeria @ 63, Calls For Upgrade Of Primary Health Care Centres

The National President of Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.

In his independence message in Abuja, Comrade Ahmed acknowledged the present challenges in the country noting that there were many landmarks in the nation’s 63 years to give a sense of optimism for a better tomorrow.

While noting the particular struggles that Nigeria has passed through as a country in the last 63 years, the National President of NACHPN explained that each country has its unique path with unique challenges it must pass through.

Affirming that the fabrics of national cohesion are increasingly being braced by the unique Nigerian struggles, Comrade Ahmed expressed the hope that with the collective support and continuous prayers of all Nigerians, the country would soon overcome its challenges.

He used the opportunity to call on President Bola Tinubu’s led administration to give priority to the revamping of the nation’s Primary Health Care Centres towards improving the wellbeing of Nigerians most especially at the grassroots.

According to him, the move would reduce maternal mortality in rural areas and enhance the actualization of Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs in the area of healthcare delivery.

While expressing concern over lack of manpower in the country’s Primary Health Care Centres nationwide, Comrade Ahmed stressed the need for the recruitment of more Community Health Workers towards ensuring effective healthcare delivery in line with the World Health Organisation, WHO, guidelines.

He equally emphasized the need to accord priority to the welfare, security, renumeration and promotion as at when due of Community Health Workers in the country.

He added that the Association under his leadership would continue ensure professionalism, combat quackery and ensure the welfare of its members.

Comrade Ahmed therefore advised members of the Association to be committed to their duties and always compliment the efforts of Government in developing the nation’s healthcare system.
