The Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP) Nigeria on Tuesday celebrated the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recent regional elections held in three crucial states of India.
India’s right-wing ruling party scored a resounding victory in regional elections, wresting control of key states in a major boost to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is set to bid for a third term in national elections in May 2024.
In the elections concluded on Sunday, BJP won Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh states from the opposition Indian National Congress Party and registered a record fifth term in central Madhya Pradesh.
BJP President, Jagat Prakash Nadda, in a statement on Tuesday said this was a significant achievement for Prime Minister Modi and setting the stage for the upcoming national elections.
Nadda, who expressed confidence in the party’s success, said, “We always said we will win the heartland states. The results are the outcome of our finest political strategy and work on the ground.
“This victory serves as a substantial endorsement for Prime Minister Modi, providing momentum as he seeks a third term in the upcoming national election.”
Vijay Chauthaiwale, the global convener of Overseas Affairs of BJP, congratulated the entire OFBJP team.
Chauthaiwale appreciated the BJP team for their unwavering dedication, resolute conviction, and courageous efforts in consistently contributing to the advancement of a new ‘Bharat’.
He said that the association’s aspirations should involve positioning it as a global leader by offering continuous support to PM Modi and selflessly volunteering for BJP activities.
Mr Sanjay Srivastava, President of OFBJP Nigeria, said that the association had organised a celebration on Monday, in show of solidarity and enthusiasm
Srivastava reaffirmed OFBJP Nigeria’s commitment to serving as goodwill ambassadors for Prime Minister Modi and supporting the developmental initiatives of Bharat.
According to him, the organisation remains dedicated to promoting India’s progress and contributing toward its aspiration to become a global leader.
