Igede Progressive Association meets with Ekiti Bureau of Tourism Development over Osun River Source

The President of Igede Ekiti Progressive Associations had a fruitful meeting with the Director General of Ekiti State Tourism Development to discuss the potential development of the Osun River source in Igede Ekiti , Ekiti State , Nigeria ,for global tourist appreciation.

During the meeting, the President of Igede Progressive Association, Dr Austine Ibikunle emphasized the significance of the Osun River source as a natural and cultural heritage site that holds immense potential to attract tourists from around the world.
Dr Ibikunle who was accompanied by Mr Abiola Fatoye and Pastor Adetula Sunday highlighted the need for collaborative efforts between the Igede Ekiti community and the Ekiti State Tourism Development Bureau to showcase and promote the site effectively.

In response, the Directorate General of Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development , Barrister Wale Ojo- Lanre expressed affirmation and support for the proposed development of the Osun River source.
Barrister Ojo- Lanre recognizing the economic and cultural benefits that such a project could bring to the state commended the people of Igede for being proactive and ready to form a synergy with the State Government
He pledged the bureau’s commitment to working closely with the Igede Ekiti Progressive Association to enhance the site’s infrastructure, accessibility, and promotional activities.

The President of Igede Ekiti Progressive Associations and the DG of Ekiti State Tourism Development agreed to form a committee to oversee the development and promotion of the Osun River source as a key tourist destination.


They also discussed potential partnerships with local and international organizations to further enhance the site’s appeal and increase tourist footfall.

Both parties expressed optimism about the positive impact that the development of the Osun River source could have on the local community’s economy, cultural preservation efforts, and overall tourism sector in Ekiti State.
