The first ever Aare Sulaiman Afolabi Ogunlayi Ramadan Lecture targetted at identifying the roles of muslims in national development will take place in Ikole Ekiti, courtesy of Akin Omo Akin Constituency Office.
The event,the organiser noted,would be a solemn occasion to contribute to the deepening of the spiritual connection of our Muslim brothers and sisters with God during the Ramadan period.
Muslim faithful from all walks of life are expected to converge on the Palace Square of Elekole of Ikole-Ekiti on March 30,2024, where an erudite scholar Prof.Ishaq Oloyede will do justice to the Ramadan topic that will commence at 10am
Prof.Oloyede who doubles as the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer,JAMB and Secretary General, Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, will deliver a lecture titled,” duties of Muslim citizens in national development”.
A statement from the AOA Constituency spokesman,Sunkanmi Bamigboye quoted the House of Representatives member, Hon.Akin Rotimi ,jnr, as saying,the lecture is a tribute to the distinguished service of Aare Sulaiman Afolabi Ogunlayi, the National Vice President of the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria.
“Aare Ogunlayi has exemplified unwavering commitment and leadership, having served as the Senior Special Adviser for Economic Matters and Chair of the Economic Development Council from 2019 to 2023”,he added.
“His dedication has made him a revered figure in our Constituency and the Muslim community”,said he.
Hon.Rotimi, who expressed his enthusiasm for the lecture, said it is a testament to his commitments in deepening the relationship with the Muslim constituents.
In his remark,Prof Ishaq Oloyede hinted,”I am delighted to be part of this event that emphasizes the role of Muslim citizens in national development,”
The Guest speaker declared,”It is an honor to share insights on this important theme.”
