Prof Ogen elected as Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, United Kingdom: CONGRATULATIONS

Prof.Olukoya Ogen of our History Department has been elected as a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, United Kingdom.

The Royal Historical Society, (RHS) founded in 1868, and headquartered at the University College, London, is a prestigious international community of historians.

The Fellowship of the 157-year-old society is awarded to those who have made original contributions to historical scholarship. In a letter addressed to the fellowship recipient by Professor Lucy Noakes, President of the RHS and the Rab Butler Professor of Modern History at the University of Essex, Ogen was informed that the Royal Historical Society recognises his innovative methodology and original contributions to historical research.

For the latest intakes, Prof. Ogen will be joining a cohort of 78 fellows from ten other countries: Australia, Canada, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the United States.


Prof. Ogen’s election as a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society further enhances Osun State University’s rapidly growing reputation for academic excellence and global impact.

This underscores the University’s commitment to advancing knowledge and fostering international engagement, Prof. O. C. Adebooye, Vice Chancellor, UNIOSUN, he stated.
