Re Federal College of Education Iwo. APC WITH DEADLY GOOD POLITICS .
In 2009 Prof Duro Ajeyalemi while on sabbatical leave served as SA to The PS Min of Education and later Head of Service Prof Afolabi approached me and drew my attention to the fact that we do not have a FCE in Osun State while virtually all other States have in the South West.
As the Chairman of a very powerful Committe of The House then Committe on Defence, I swinged into action and got the FCE Ibokun project captured in the 2010 Appropriation Act unfortunately I lost election in 2011. I couldn’t come back to the Parliament to follow up. My successor even though may embrace the idea but he may lack the legislative idea of how to follow it up. This is not to suggest that other communities did not make effort privately unknown to the public .
One of my Brothers From Ibokun Hon Oyintiloye on behalf of Ibokun Developemnt Association has sought the help of Sen Sola Adeyeye representing Osun Central in The Senate an avowed Educationist and our Inlaw in Ijesa Land to realise the establishment of the College in Ibokun, the respected Professor rather initiated another Bill to have the College in his home town Ila Orangun. I don’t blame him patriotism at work.
Between 2015 to date I relaunched my effort just like every other Members from Ayeidade/ Isokan / Ikire , Ejigbo Egbedore / Ede and Iwo/ Ayedire Olaoluwa tried to have the College. Finally Iwo got it .
Iwo got it for a number of factors . Underground lobby etc but the one that is very clear to me is that of good dangerous politics on the part of the incumbent Apc lead Government of Osun State under the leadership of HE Alh Gboyega Oyetola not that he couldn’t have taken the College to Boripe LG Iragbiji to be specific but chose to prefer Iwo . It’s indeed a good politics and sign of STATEMANSHIP. I don’t see how he will loose sleep over Iwo land votes come 2022 Gubernatorial election .
It’s also a good reason for PDP OSUN to put her house in order
As painful as it is to me and my people from Obokun/ Oriade for losing the hosting right to Iwo , we like to congratulate Iwo Land for this achievement. We have always loved you people even when Chief Bola Ige lived . As Governor of the old Oyo State he sited the Broadcasting Station in Iwo.
