Digital Economy To Drive Robust Info Mgt System,says Comm Minister

The Honorable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami,stressed that digital economy sector in the post COVID-19 pandemic Era
will help in achieving a cohesive and robust information management system in the country.

The HM made the emphasis at the Institute of Information Management 2020 Annual Summit in Abuja,

Speaking during the Summit,the HM,reiterated the commitment of the President Muhammadu Buhari, led administration to drive the digital economy sector with a view to achieving a cohesive and robust information management system in the country.

The Minister who was represented by the DG /CEO NIMC, Engr Aliyu A Aziz,emphasised the importance of digital economy in the post COVID-19 pandemic Era,says the world is at a threshold of history where data is now the new air and access to reliable and accurate data can help us navigate and tackle the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic and plan for the future.

The themed is : e-Governance, Digital Economy & Records Management : Assessing Government Readiness on Electronic Document Management & Digitisation post COVID-19.

The HM listed some of the achievements of the present administration : e-Governance solutions in the conduct of government business, digital identity as a key enabler of progress toward sustainable development goals and full participation in the global digital economy.

In his closing remark, he hoped that the Institute of Information Management would evolve a blue print for a sustainable and holistic approach towards addressing key areas of the summit theme.
