Ahead of the Saturday’s Natiional Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP , for the election of its new Nation’al Working Committee, NWC, the delegates from Osun State chapter of the Party, comprising
elected and statutory have endorsed a former Governor of the state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola as the Nation’al Deputy Chairman (South) micro-zoned to the State
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of their meeting and signed by the trio of Hon Sunday Bisi the State Party Chairman ,Sen. Ademola Nurudeen Adeleke ,Osun State Governorship Candidate 2018 and Prof Wale Oladipo, Party Leader and former Natiional Secretary of the Party respectively.
They vehemently opposed the attempt by Gov. Seyi Makinde tof Oyo State to hijack what had been micro-zoned to Osun State, saying “after all, Oyo State already occupies the South West Chairmanship of the party, in person of Amb. Arapaja, who is a member of National working Committee”
The delegates ” therefore unanimously agreed that, all elected and statutory delegates from Osun State to the PDP National Convention should cast our votes for PRINCE OLAGUNSOYE OYINLOLA. The only candidate from Osun State for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South). We equally appeal to all the de legates from other states in Nigeria to support the candidature of Prince Oyinyola by voting massively for him at the convention.
The Comunique reads, ” after an exhaustive deliberation on the forthcoming national convention of our party as it relates to the issue of post zoned to Osun State. We the elected and statutory delegates of PDP from Osun state resolve as follows:
“That the position of Deputy National Chairman of PDP (South) that has been micro-zoned to Osun state at a meeting presided over by H.E Governor Seyi Makinde in Abuja sill stands.
“That the unwarranted, orchestrated and out-rightly illegal exclusion of Prof. Wale Oladipo from standing for election as Deputy National Chairman (South) is nothing but a rape of democracy. The
reasons being to smuggle in a weak and pliable candidate into that exalted office knowing fully well that Prof. Oladipo has the National reach to get easily elected at the convention
“As a result of Prof Wale Oladipo’s exclusion. Gov. Oyinlola remains the only aspirant from Osun State for the position of Deputy National Chairman (South) of cur party at the convention
