Ooni of Ife Seeks Constitutional Recognition For NHFSS

The Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ojaja the II, the Ooni of Ife has called for constitutional recognition for the Nigerian Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS.

Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi made the cal when the Commander General of NHFSS, Amb. Joshua Osatimehin visited him in his palace in Ile Ife, Osun State.

The Traditional Ruler who commended the efforts of the Commander General over the years in complimenting the activities of formal security Agencies in tackling insecurity in the country said giving constitutional recognition to NHFSS would go a long way in reducing banditry, kidnapping, boko haram, terrorism and other forms of security challenges confronting Nigeria.

According to him, the activities of NHFSS in Osun State has helped in checkmating criminality most especially in forests around the State.

He therefore promised his support to the Service through consultation with other traditional rulers in the State and top Government officials as well as provision of logistics towards realizing the mandate of the Organisation.

While advising men and officials of NHFSS to continue to render their service with diligence and patriotism, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi called for more measures towards addressing insecurity in the country.

Earlier, the Commander General of NHFSS, Amb Joshua Osatimehin thanked Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi for granting him and his team audience in his palace.

Amb. Osatimehin said he was in the palace to seek Royal blessings and support to the programmes and activities of NHFSS towards improved security nationwide.

The Commander General who appreciated the Traditional Ruler for his planned support to NHFSS said the service would not relent in its efforts in protecting lives and property of Nigerians through rendering necessary assistance on intelligence gathering to other formal security Agencies in the country.

He therefore solicited the same support and cooperation with other traditional rulers in the country to enable the administration of President Bola Tinubu to achieve its agenda on improved security in Nigeria.
