Let Us Work Together And Build A United Nigeria, Otunba Runsewe Urges Nigerians

The Director General National  Council for Arts and Culture(NCAC), Otunba Olusegun Runsewe has called on Nigerians to join hands together to build the Nigeria of our dream and forget about the problems created by the general election and move the nation forward.

Speaking at a day programme organised by NCAC with a theme #puttingnigeriafirst, held at the Capital Hotel, Asokoro, Abuja, Otunba Runsewe noted that Nigeria can only get to the promised Land when we remain United Nigeria, one nation, one destiny and the only way to achieve this is by joining hands together to build the Nigeria of our dream.

He appealed to Nigerians that the general election campaigns are over and a new government has been duly inargutated, there is need for all the political class and their supporter forget about the past and work together in the interest of the nation.

He said, “Enough of hate speech, bitterness and rancour, let’s embrace the enduring ties that bind us together whether tribe or tongue, religion or Creed, we are one, in unity and brotherhood we stand”.

“I therefore called on all Nigerians, particularly our political elite, religious leaders, traditional rulers, opinion moulders, leaders of thought and I need, all patriotic and well-meaning Nigerians to join hands with the new administration in it’s determined efforts to reposition our nation on the part of sustainable peace, socioeconomic growth and development”, he said.

“Nigeria is one indivisible nation, our nationalists struggled to give us independence, our nationhood was not burn under division of ethnicity or religion, politics is a platform to attain our dream of a good life”, he added.

He appealed that we should not turn the country to the theatre of war, to drag Nigeria backward, let live together in peace rather than destructive criticism, unhealthy grandstanding along political parties, ethnic and religious background.

“We must all believe and have faith in the Nigerian project, we must all be patriotically committed to national development, we must all rise beyond the narrow confines of individualistic concern, ethnicity, religion and political cleavages. In other words, We Must Put Nigeria First”, he stated
