The Commander General of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Dr. Usman Mohammed Jahun has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his victory at the Supreme Court on Thursday.
Speaking with newsmen this Saturday in Abuja, Dr. Jahun said the Supreme Court ruling was a victory for democracy.
While expressing confidence in the ability of President Bola Tinubu to perform, the Commander General of VGN stated that the victory marked the beginning of better things to come for Nigeria and Nigerians.
“President Bola Tinubu who is a two term Governor of Lagos State, well experienced in politics and an astute Administrator no doubt has the capacity to change Nigeria for better hence the need for all us most especially the political class to rally around him to succeeded in his developmental programmes for Nigeria” He stressed
Dr. Jahun urged other political parties and politicians to effectively support President Bola Tinubu towards repositioning the country for greatness.
The Commander General therefore advised President Bola Tinubu not to relent in delivering the dividends of democracy to Nigerians in line with his Renewed Hope agenda for the country.
He reiterated the commitment of VGN towards supporting all security efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration in combating banditry, kidnapping, boko haram, terrorism and other forms of criminality in the country.
He therefore used the opportunity to appeal to President Bola Tinubu to sign the VGN Bill before him into law to further strengthen the security apparatus of the country.
According to him, constitutional recognition of Vigilante Group of Nigeria will go a long way in the fight against insecurity in the country.
“VGN is a grassroots security organization since time immemorial and giving us formal recognition will enable officers and men of the Organization to effectively compliment the efforts of other security Agencies in protecting the lives and property of nigerians most especially in rural areas thereby realizing the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s led administration in the area of security”.
