Goge Africa empowers youths in fashion, modeling Goge

Africa, a culture, arts and tourism promotion outfit, says it is ready to give back to African youths by empowering them through the fashion, modeling and creative industries. Isaac Moses, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Goge Africa, disclosed this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Lagos.

Moses said that the empowerment programme titled “Face of Goge Africa” (FOGA) was part of plans to commemorate Goge Africa’s 25th anniversary on March 23, 2024.

He said the programme would be the largest scouting competition where selected models would compete for a chance to win a year international modeling contract, a vacation trip, a car, cash rewards and other prizes.

He noted that this would propel them into a global modeling career. “FOGA is not just a one-time event, it is scheduled to be an annual celebration of African talent.

“This massive talent hunt will focus on emerging models and talents, attracting thousands of applicants from Africa and the diaspora. “Scheduled for March 23, 2024, at Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria, FOGA promises to be a monumental celebration of African culture and creativity, drawing participants and attendees from across the continent and beyond.

“The journey to FOGA victory includes a “Pre-event” photo session in February, with 100 models qualifying, followed by a camp where 50 models will compete for a spot in the main event. “The final 10 will line up, vying for the coveted title, with the ultimate 5 winners to be announced,” he said.

According to Moses, the event will reach over 100 million individuals both online and offline, making it a significant platform for brands, fashion, arts, and beauty products to connect with their target audience.

He noted that the grand prize included a golden opportunity for five lucky winners to showcase their talents at the Goge Africa grand celebration in October 2024, reaching a global audience and shaping the future of African talent.

“African fashion and modeling have witnessed remarkable global acclaim in the past decade and FOGA is strategically conceived to build on this growth. “With the inexhaustible creativity of Africa’s fashion designers and the untapped talent of vivacious African youths, FOGA aims to be the largest scouting competition ever held in Africa.

“Goge Africa, a brand with over 40 million viewers of its multiple award-winning culture and travel television content series, will showcase over 50 models at the main event,” he said.
