In my journey through life and my career as a police officer in Nigeria, I have had the privilege of meeting and working with many individuals in both my official and personal capacities. Each encounter has left its own impression, but a few individuals have made a lasting impact on my professional journey. Prince Olatunji of the Nigerian Tribune Newspaper is one of such remarkable personalities.
My relationship with the media dates back to 2004, when I joined the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) as a student member, a year before I enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet ASP in 2005.
In 2008, I became the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ogun State, and since then, I have remained actively engaged in the media space, interacting with journalists and other stakeholders in the communication industry.
Prince Olatunji Segun Jacob is one of the veterans I have known for many years and one of those who have made my professional responsibilities as a Police spokesperson considerably easier.
I vividly remember when he once told me that I would become the Force Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force. At the time, it was an expression of confidence and encouragement. Today, that prediction became a reality.
Beyond his professional excellence, Prince Olatunji has been a pillar of support, stability and encouragement. He is one of those who know how to calm tense situations when the heat is high, bringing wisdom, maturity and understanding to difficult moments.
He is a reliable, responsible, intelligent and experienced journalist, a respected elder statesman in the media profession, and a man whose contributions to journalism and professional relationships deserve recognition.
My dear brother and egbon, Prince Olatunji, today, I celebrate you.
