Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Sulaimon Lasun Yussuff has reacted to a statement credited to Barrister Kunle Oyatomi, the Osun APC factional spokesman, saying that Oyatomi is suffering from long time brain disorder
In a statement from LasunYussuff 2022 Project posited that Oyatomi is already suffering from a long-term mental disorder of a type involving a breakdown in the relation between thought, emotion, and behaviour, leading to faulty perception, inappropriate actions and feelings, withdrawal from reality and personal relationships into imagination and misapprehension, and a sense of mental dissolution.
The statement wondered why is the pre-subdue trauma ahead of the All Progressives Congress 2022 Governorship Primary Elections, the faction where Oyatomi belong has become intensely edgy and deranged over the picking of APC governorship Expression of interest and nomination forms by the former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Lasun Yussuff at the APC National Secretariat. And his soaring popularity as well as the surge of the good people of Osun.
According to the media office, “The hurried reply of Oyatomi clearly shown that there is a mentality characterized by inconsistent element. There is a strong medical need to clinically examine him by a team of psychiatrists cum psychologists”.
“The former Deputy Speaker had a conversation with the press after he has picked the All Progressives Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms ahead of the party primary. And he stated how he was shortchanged in the primary that produced the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola in July 2018.
Meanwhile, what he said was a bitter encounter not to him alone but to the good people of Osun. This fact was never fabricated by his honourable person, it is in the public domain. The people know this”, the statement noted
The statement reiterated, “The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Committee, for the Osun State Governorship election, Governor Abdulazeez Yari did not come to Osun to conduct the governorship primary elections. At the 11th hour to the elections senator Omo-Agege appeared he took the job stood in for Yari. And the usual indirect primary elections metamorphosed into a direct primary. It was in record that the direct primary started in Osun. These are facts Oyatomi can not deny.
Everything depends on upbringing. We expected Oyatomi who happens to be a lawyer to be upright in his way of life. We are optimistic that he is being affected by parenting. Parents can only give good advice or put children on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands”.
“By this, Kunle Oyatomi’s birth (paternity/maternity) is questionable. How could he applied such unruly words against the former Deputy Speaker of HoR and one of the founding members of the progressive party in Osun. We thought upbringing has to shaping one’s life. Undoubtedly, bad parenting has contributed negatively to his upbringing.
It is invaluable that law school should start examining the mental capacity of law graduands in the country before admitting them.
There are some features that a lawyer should possess viz; compassion, assertiveness, creativity, ability to listen and digest, and perseverance.
These five qualities are significantly key to every lawyer to discharge his duties. Oyatomi lacks these above listed qualities instead of being assertive in his reply he was so aggressive attacking Lasun’s personality.
Instead of him to deal with the issue of the July 18th 2018 kangaroo governorship primary elections that gave birth to Oyetola becoming the flag bearer of the party. The fact that Lasun Yussuff was rigged out can not be denied the public is aware of this, the statement added.
We advice Oyatomi and the leadership of his faction at the state level to revisit Lasun Yussuff’s speech once more to finding a real solutions to the issues rather than name callings. Oyatomi was just being incertitude in his defence in respect to the July 18th governorship primary elections.
We reiterate that the kangaroo primary was never a credible one and the public is aware of this, as that bitter memory of July 18th 2018 stay longer than necessary because of a reluctance to vacate their skulls.
