Covid 19: Governors Forum Wants Total Lockdown Relax

Nigeria Governors Forum wrote presidency through the Secretary to the Government of the Federal on ways to go about the lockdown caused by Covid 19 pandemic.


The forum was worried about the total lockdown and the attendance suffering on the people thereby came out with a proposal to the presidency on the best ways to fight the pandemic and also alleviate the suffering of the people

The forum in the letter proposed that interstate lockdown should exclude movement of essential supply, like food, beverages, medical and pharmaceutical, petroleum and agriculture supplied 
Internal free movement but restrictions on large gathering And assembly. Overnight curfew and lockdown on flight.


The forum also proposed that there should be compulsory wearing of facemask and covering of face in the public.
In the letter signed by the chairman of the forum, Governor Kayode Fayemi, governor of Ekiti State maintained that their proposal is subject to the approval of President Mohammodu Buhari.


The letter noted that at the meeting it was agreed that the Nigeria Governors Forum would articulate Issues that would want to be part of the Presidential pronouncement on Covid 19 so as to have uniform and coordinated policy on the covid19 At both the national and sub national levels
