Former Governor of Gombe State and serving Senator, Muhammad Danjuma Goje, has raised concerns over the circulation of what he described as fake results from the ongoing All Progressives Congress, APC, primary election for the Gombe Central Senatorial District.
Senator Goje, through his Special Assistant, Ahmed Isa Kashere, said the results being shared across sections of the media and social media platforms, were fabricated and did not represent the official outcome of the exercise.
“The direct primary election, held on Monday in Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas, which make up the Gombe Central Senatorial District, is yet to be officially concluded and announced,” the release read in part.
It said despite this, unofficial figures claiming to show the outcome of the APC primary had surfaced online, prompting the senator to caution party members and the public against misinformation.
In a statement issued on behalf of the senator, Kashere urged constituents and APC supporters to remain calm and await the official declaration of results.

“On behalf of His Excellency, Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje, I wish to advise the good people of Gombe Central Senatorial District, comprising Akko and Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Areas, to disregard the fake results being circulated by enemies of our great party as the outcome of the APC primary election for Gombe Central Senatorial District,” the statement read.
He stressed that the authentic results had not yet been announced, noting that in line with guidelines issued by the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress, the official results would be released in Abuja.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the official result of the primary election has not yet been announced. In line with the guidelines issued by the national headquarters of our party, the APC, the authentic results will be released in Abuja,” Kashere added.
He further appealed to party members, supporters and the general public to remain patient while the official process was being concluded.
“As a respected lawmaker and elder statesman, His Excellency remains committed to due process and will continue to abide strictly by the rules and regulations of the party,” the statement concluded.
